Art-A-Fair is a premier art festival that takes place in Laguna Beach every year at the end of August. What if I'm not in town during Art-A-Fair?
If you are visiting with your Orange County car rental and Art-A-Fair is not being held, you can visit the Laguna Art Museum, which is a museum in the area that features American art with a special focus on art from California. The purpose of the museum is to expose people to art and promote an understanding of the role of art in American culture. The museum was founded in 1918 by a small group of painters who settled in the area and wanted to show the best works of artists from the area. The permanent collection here consists of works from the early 19th century until the present. When you are here, you can take an audio tour of the museum on your iPhone through a special app. There are also docent-guided group tours for groups of ten to sixty people, but reservations are required in advance. If you would like to walk in and do a tour, they are conducted at 2 p.m. in the museum lobby on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays when you are here with your visiting with your Orange County rental car.
