The Autry National Center is the museum of the American West, which you can visit when you rent a car in Los Angeles. The Autry National Center is formed of three important museums:

  • Southwest Museum of the American Indian
  • Museum of the American West
  • Women of the West Museum

Building for the future

The Southwest Museum of the American Indian is currently under renovation to increase its size. Right now, most of the exhibits must be kept in storage because of limited space. However, when you come rent a car in Los Angeles this may have changed. By 2010, there will be a new cultural exhibit here to learn about the southwest. This museum holds some of the most important collections for American Indians.
