Car Rentals in California and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve Orange County

Imagine that you have young children and you want to go on vacation somewhere as a family. You think long and hard about where you want to go, somewhere that the whole family can enjoy. It's hard to do though, since everyone likes different things and you aren't sure if going to one place will upset someone in the family. You ask your friends who have children where they go on vacations and you get some good answers but you just don't think these places suit you. Well, California car rental customers, why not go somewhere fun and exciting where everyone can enjoy some aspect about the trip? Go somewhere where your family will have a good time simply because you are together experiencing life. If this is what you want, you should definitely go to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Orange County. You will see some of the most interesting and rare species around and you will learn more than you think from this wildlife reserve.

Life is wild

You might see some animals that you have never even heard of before if you come to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve on your upcoming California car rental vacation. This wildlife reserve is surrounded by Huntington Beach and is managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. There is so much to do and see here that it's a great educational experience just waiting to happen. This reserve has a goal to protect saltwater marsh habitat with its endangered and threatened species. If you want to see some of these creatures, you should come for a visit on your California car rental trip.

Buenos Dias!

You are probably wondering what exactly "Bolsa Chica" means, aren't you? Well this is a Spanish term for "little pocket" because this area of the reserve used to be part of an early Spanish land grant. The reserve is a little area of land that includes a section of wetlands for water species. It's a great place to take your children to teach them about the animals of the world and how we need to protect them. It's also a good place to travel to if you just want to be alone. You can walk along the paths in complete serenity and relaxation. It's worth a visit on your California car rental journey.

In the beginning

Bolsa Chica began when, in 1899, a gun club was formed by a group of businessmen. They built a huge structural building to house their operations. In 1940, Japan was about to attack California so two bunkers were created at this location to protect it. One of the bunkers is still left standing to this day, but it is blocked off from public viewing. In 1970, the developer of the land wanted to make the ecological reserve on the 300 acres of land he had. Eventually, the reserve was created in hopes of educating its visitors and the entire world, for that matter, about the importance of wetlands. You can learn more about the reserve and its history when you visit this amazing place.

Capture the moment

There are many activities that you and your family can partake in at the reserve. Some of the most popular ones include bird watching, hiking and photography. It is a great place to get some beautiful pictures, so be sure to bring your camera. There are also areas at Bolsa Chica where fishing takes place, if you like to fish. Pets are not allowed inside the reserve. If you wish to take a tour, you can book one and it's completely free! What a great place to visit on your future California car rental vacation.
