Take a ride on the wild side
The rides here are designed for families with younger children. For example, there is a greenhouse so large that you can take a monorail through it, even over the river that runs through it. Walking through the gardens

Claudia's Garden is named after Michael Bonfante's wife, and it is the oldest garden you will visit while you are here with your San Jose car rental. There are a variety of conifers, which are trees with needle-like leaves. Many are designed into unique shapes each year. Many people choose to have their wedding in this garden, and you will also find the antique children's carousel in this garden.
The Rainbow Garden is unique because rather than walking through it, you drift on the Rainbow Garden Round Boat Ride to see it. This gives you an opportunity to see the topiaries from eye level rather than from above. This garden is closed in the winter for maintenance during the holiday festival.
The Monarch Garden has hundreds of tropical and sub-tropical trees, shrubs, and flowers. These plants would not survive the climate here, so they are housed in a large greenhouse. You can walk through the garden or see it from above as you ride on the Sky Trail Monorail. Then, see it from below through the train tunnels.
Camellia Garden has a variety of the two most popular species of Camellias and bloom from September through April. Throughout this garden are Japanese Maples and other annual flowers to highlight the flowers.
The Holly Garden features more than 20 varieties of hollies. These are not well known in the west, and the garden is designed to show their diversity. There is also a Lily Pond and one of the largest waterfalls in the park.
Finally there is the South County Backroads Garden, which is viewed by taking a ride in an antique car. Through the foothills and the valleys, you will see conifers, deciduous trees, flowerbeds, an open meadow, and many water features with rock formations.
