Terminal Information for John Wayne Airport

Since 1990 the John Wayne Airport has been proud to provide passengers with a sunny and spacious terminal named after Thomas F. Riley, an astute promoter of aviation in the OC. This terminal is divided into two floors with departures on the upper level and arrivals on the lower. If at any point you feel lost or fluster look for a friendly face in a red jacket; volunteers wearing red coats can be found throughout the terminal, ready and waiting to assist you in your travels in and around the airport. Baggage claim areas are found on the arrival level of the Thomas F. Riley terminal and are easily accessible by the escalator or elevator. If you need help with your baggage look for skycaps and SmartCartes baggage carts for more assistance. Other services offered in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal include Information Booths, Washrooms, Lockers and Payphones. You will also find a variety of shops and restaurants located inside the Thomas F. Riley terminal offering everything from coffee and candy to books and souvenirs.

Special Features of the John Wayne Airport

When you first arrive at the John Wayne Airport be sure to stop and say hello to the Duke! A nine foot tall bronze statue of John Wayne himself can be found inside the Thomas F. Riley terminal, resting atop a marble pedestal. The statue is designed in two tiers which allow visitors to touch the statue before embarking on their journey in or out of the airport. Another interesting feature of the John Wayne Airport is the Airport Arts Program. This program provides the John Wayne Airport with amazing art exhibits, many of which are museum quality. The Airport Arts Program is proud to showcase local artistic talents from the Orange County Community, while also supporting the students in the area with the Annual Student Art Contest. Before you fly out of the John Wayne Airport be sure to stop and take a gander and some of the wonderful exhibits on display. Past exhibits have included paintings from the Irvine Museum and works by the renowned artist Susan Weller.
