A brief outline
City Beach Management Group was formed in 1991 to develop a 23,000 square foot indoor recreational facility in Emeryville, California. It opened with two beach sand courts, three hard surfaces sport courts, weight and fitness equipment, and a restaurant. It was the first facility of its kind to open in the western United States, which you can still visit with your 21 and under car rental. Since its inception, a second location has opened and it is the largest volleyball facility operator in the United States. There have been some renovations since opening, but many of the facilities are still there, only in greater numbers. This is one of the city's largest climbing gyms that includes 60 top ropes, a 45 foot lead cave, three crack systems, a free standing boulder, and a campus system.
