Dining in the Dark

There’s no denying the fact that dining is a sensory experience: tastes, textures, and smells are all a part of an amazing meal. But what if you were denied one of your most important senses prior to an exquisite meal? Would it still taste the same, or would you be left unsatisfied? Well, travelers in Los Angeles car rentals can find out the answer for themselves at Opaque – Dining in the Dark. In today’s era of over visual simulation, Opaque provides diners with a unique dining experience designed to stimulate your other, often neglected senses. So don’t be afraid of the dark during your upcoming Super Cheap Los Angeles Car Rentals vacation. Rather, embrace it and reserve a table at Opaque.

What you’ll experience

Dining in the Dark is a multi-sensual dining experience based on an ingenious European concept. Travelers in Los Angeles car rentals will enjoy a five-star meal at the restaurant, but only if they agree to enjoy it in total darkness. For an hour or two, you and your dining companions will abandon vision in an attempt to awaken your senses of taste, small, touch and hearing. Upon arrive at the restaurant, diners will be asked to choice from a specially prepared menu (designed by an award-winning sighted chef). From there, diners will be guided to their tables by blind or visually impaired individuals, where your dining experience will take place.

Select your meal from Opaque’s amazing menu

The meals at Dining in the Dark are extraordinary – whether you eat them in full light or a pitch black dining room! Prepared by an award-winning chef, travelers in Los Angeles car rentals will have a choice of unique dishes that are truly a journey of taste. Each meal set at Dining in the Dark is comprised of your choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Each meal set costs $99 plus tax. There are four meal sets to choose from – chicken, fish, beef and vegetarian. Each is served with your choice of Baby Green Salad, with baby arugula, red oak, frieze and Bibb lettuce; or an Heirloom Tomato Salad, with organic tomatoes, basil, grilled houlimi, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. Desert is either a Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with fresh berries and vanilla whipped cream, or a Mango Panna Cotta with coconut crème anglaise and fresh fruits.

Locations

Travelers on Los Angeles car rentals can enjoy Dining in the Dark at three different locations in southern California: Santa Monica, San Diego and San Francisco. The Santa Monica location is inside V-Lounge on Wilshire Boulevard. Travelers in Los Angeles car rentals will discover the San Diego Opaque location inside the Great Room at the W Hotel San Diego (please note this location is only available for groups of 20 diners or more by reservation). Finally, diners will find the Opaque San Francisco location just downstairs from INDIGO Restaurant in Hayes Valley. Capacities at the Santa Monica, San Diego and San Francisco restaurants are 40, 90 and 50 guests respectively.
