About the Building

Built in 1898 by architect A. Page Brown, the Ferry Building and its towering 240 foot clock tower is one of San Franciscos iconic landmark establishments, providing visitors with a stunning view of the surrounding San Francisco waterfront and bustling market street area. Organized along a 660-foot length nave, the Ferry Building currently boasts two massive, open Markey Halls, each designed in the style of a traditional classic open-aired market. This ground floor, which features nearly 65,000 square feet of public space is simply the beginning, as the second and third stories house an extra 175,000 square feet of office space and ceremonial hearing rooms for the San Francisco Port Commission. This extremely versatile building is also home to numerous public meeting spaces, all of which can be reserved for personal parties and/or corporate events.
