Step back in time

Located on the eastern slope of the Coast Range, this estate contains a historic house and formal garden. The house was occupied from 1917 to 1936 by William Bowers Bourne II and his wife. In 1937 the property was sold to the Roths, who continued to maintain and enrich the estate until it was donated to the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1975. Filoli was built by a prominent San Franciscan . It got it's name from the first two letter from the key words of his credo "Fight for a just cause; love your fellow man; live a good life". Filoli provides an inspiring vision of anew Eden: bountiful land, plentiful resources, and an emphasis on self-sufficiency.
Explore the grounds
There are many tours available to you to participate on when you visit with your car rental Silicon Valley. You will also learn to identify them and a bit about the plant's history. There are more than seven miles of trails that crisscross six different types of native California habitats that you can explore as you hike along the well-maintained trails. In the summer (June through October), there are orchard tours on Thursday and Saturdays that will take you through the orchard and teach you about the tradition of the gentleman's orchard. Filoli is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (last admission is 2:30) and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Bikes are welcome and there is parking for your car rental Silicon Valley. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for students. Children under 5 are free. There are additional or increased fees on special event days, so please review the calendar for more information. Admission includes an all-day self-guided tour or a guided tour or nature hike combined with a self-guided tour. It is about 30 miles south of San Francisco in Woodside, just south of Highways 92 and 280 junction with your car rental Silicon Valley. They are located at 86 Canada Road.
