Rent A Car In Los Angeles and the Greek Theater Los Angeles

The Greek Theater is Los Angeles's best outdoor theater to visit with your rent a car in Los Angeles. Located in Griffith Park, this is one of the most picturesque theaters in the area, as well as a popular destination for visitors and residents alike. The Greek Theater has offered entertainment to every segment of the population and has hosted performances by some of the biggest names in show business, including The Who, Alicia Keys, Pearl Jam, Marc Anthony, Tina Turner, Elton John, Santana, The White Stripes, Jack Johnson, and many more.

The theater seats 5801 people in a concert setting. When you leave your rent a car in Los Angeles to come in you will notice the great acoustics and excellent site lines. It was originally built in 1929, but the history of the site goes back to 1882 when a man came to the area from South Wales with nothing in his pocket but made a fortune in the gold mines. He wanted to do something for the city and gave the city three thousand acres of his land to be used as a park. The only condition was that there had to be "a place of recreation and rest for the masses". For 16 years, there was nothing like this park in the world. It remained in its natural state and was open to the public. The man went back to the city counsel, not satisfied that he had done his duty. He gave the city another give: money to build an observatory in the park. When he died, it was discovered that a Greek Theater was also in his trust to be built for the masses.

The easiest is with Quick Park, which is available for $40 and can be reserved by calling in advance of the show. There is also other parking around the venue for your rent a car in Los Angeles for $15, but it is stacked parking.

The box office will be re-opening in the spring of 2007 when the shows start again. The Box Office is located north of the Greek Theater at 2700 North Vermont Canyon in Griffith Park. Tickets are also available at Ticketmaster online and over the phone.

When you visit the Greek Theater for a show with your rent a car in Los Angeles, remember that everyone needs a ticket, even if you have a baby in your arms. You cannot bring food or beverages inside the theater. The only exception is factory-sealed water bottles. No recording devices are allowing inside the theater, including cameras. And smoking is only allowed on the concourses in designated areas. The goal is to make everyone's experience memorable.

Griffith Park

Griffith Park has many attractions to visit aside from the Greek Theater. The Griffith Observatory and planetarium is found within the park, as well as the Los Angeles Zoo. There is a classic merry-go-round here for a spin. In terms of sports, there are two 18-hole golf courses, a baseball field, athletic fields, basketball and tennis courts. The park has a swimming pool which is only open during the summer months. And within the park you will find hiking and equestrian trails that take you to the neighboring residential areas.
