San Francisco Car Rentals and the Harding Park Golf Course
Harding Park Golf Course can be found with your San Francisco car rental on a rolling peninsula by the shores of Lake Merced in southwestern San Francisco. It is one of the greatest public golfing experiences in the United States, so golf lovers will want to be sure to stop by for a round with their San Francisco car rental. Improvements were made in 2002 to keep it up to its world-class standards.
A Championship Course
The improvements were designed to bring the course back to PGA level, and it was host to the 2005 World Golf Championships-American Express Championship. This event saw Tiger Woods defeat John Daly on the second playoff hole, making it the sixth tour victory for Tiger Woods that year. The best part of the course is that it is that it is located less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean. It is near the San Francisco Zoo and Skyline Boulevard, so any non-golfers can drop you off with your San Francisco car rental and head over there to enjoy their day.
Two-In-One Hole-In-One
You have the choice between two scorecards when you arrive at Harding Park Golf Course. The Harding Park layout follows the original 1925 design that used the topography and vegetation found in the area. There were several carefully placed bunkers and re-countered green complexes. There are multiple teeing surfaces that provide flexibility on the course and offer characteristics that every level of golfer will find challenging - from beginner to expert.
The Fleming Golf Course is an executive nine-hole course that has been revitalized with the same standards as the Harding course. Although it is shorter than the Harding Course, it involves a little more strategy. This is a little more comfortable for golfers who are just getting started with the sport or still learning the sport. All levels of golfers can enjoy these courses when you come down with your San Francisco car rental.
There are also practice putting greens and an all-season practice area with TourTurf, a state-of-the-art surface. For a rest after your round, there is a full service restaurant open for lunch and dinner during the week, and breakfast is served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
