Underage 18 Car Rental and Hellyer Velodrome

A velodrome is an arena for track cycling. The Hellyer Park Velodrome is located in Hellyer County Park. When it is open, this can be a lot of fun to visit with your underage 18 rent a car.

Feel the wind in your hair

When you visit the Hellyer Velodrome with your underage 18 rent a car is administered by the NCVA. During a session, the supervisor will unlock the facilities and collect fees, which is $5 to use the track for the day. The cost of the facilities covers insurance and maintenance of the track. If it is raining, a session will be cancelled. The supervisor at the session is responsible for making sure that it is safe for all riders.

Information for new riders

If you are a new rider, then you will have to attend on Saturday morning from 8:30-11:30 a.m. This will give you an opportunity to learn about safety, fixed gear riding, velodrome riding, and gets lots of practice when you come with your underage 18 rent a car. There are track bikes that you can rent on a first come, first serve basis. Gears on rental bikes can't be changed, but there are some with flip-flop hubs with gears on both sides. Riders must bring their own pedals. You need to be there at the beginning of the session and make sure that you bring the release form, a helmet, cycling shoes, pedals, warm clothes, a snack, Allen wrenches, and sunscreen. You will need to get there early in order to rent the bike.

A night at the races

There are race nights that you can visit with your underage 18 rent a car. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday night there are regular races. The levels of experience depend on when you go, and some are open for anyone who has attended a Saturday session. If you are up for it and talented with the bike, maybe you will also enter a race to see how you fare. Plan your trip

To get here with your underage 18 rent a car, you need to take the 101 south for 5 miles from the 680/280/101 interchange. Exit at Hellyer Avenue. At the bottom of the off-ramp turn right. There is a stop sign, where you go straight into Hellyer Park and follow the signs to the Velodrome. Parking for your underage 18 rent a car is $6 for the day. If you are coming to see a race, the spectator gate is located on the south end of the velodrome. You need to walk counter clockwise around the track to get to the gate.

When you visit the Hellyer Velodrome with your underage 18 rent a car you can either catch a race or practice on the track. Once you get on the bike and get a little practice, you might want to enter a race yourself. Remember, all new bikers must attend the Saturday session.
