Underage 18 Car Rental and HP Pavilion

The HP Pavilion is an indoor arena in San Jose that you can visit with your underage 18 rent a car. Sometimes this arena is called the Shark Tank or the Tank because it is most famous for being the home of the San Jose Sharks.

Are you a FAN?

When you visit the HP Pavilion with your underage 18 rent a car, you may learn that plans for an arena in San Jose began in the mid-1980s, when a group called Fund Arena Now (FAN) dedicated their time to having one built. They promoted the possibility of the NHL or NBA setting up a team in the area. The arena plans were passed in 1988 and was one of the reasons the San Jose Sharks were located here later. The arena was built in 1991, but there were significant delays to the opening because the NHL was updating their standards and it was also to be used by the community. In fact, it is interesting to know the original arena plans had no luxury suites or a press box. The arena finally opened in 1993. It was renamed in 2002 when HP bought Compaq (who owned the arena since 2001), after one of the owners computer lines.

What you get

The HP Pavilion is home to the San Jose Sharks, the San Jose SaberCats (Arena Football League), and the San Jose Stealth (National Lacrosse League). The annual SAP Open men's tennis tournament is also held here. In the past, the arena has been home to the Golden State Warriors while the Oakland Coliseum Arena was being constructed, as well as the San Jose Rhinos (Roller Hockey International) and the San Jose Grizzlies (Continental Indoor Soccer League). When you visit with your underage 18 rent a car, there are also an average of 190 other events, many of them non-sporting. There have been concerts, Royal Rumbles, and March Madness. In 2006, HP Pavilion sold the fourth most non-sporting tickets in the world, only coming behind Madison Square Gardens (New York), Manchester Evening Arena (Manchester, UK), and the Air Canada Centre (Toronto, Canada).

Catch the game

Depending on what season you visit with your underage 18 rent a car, you may be able to catch some professional sports games during your trip. One of the lesser known sports that can be a lot of fun and very exciting is Arena Football. The SaberCats are based in HP Pavilion. The SaberCats are the defending Arena Bowl champions and play in the Western Division of the American Conference. They are one of the Arena Football Leagues premier organizations, with never having less than 10000 fans at home games. If you have an opportunity to see them when you visit with your underage 18 rent a car, then this is not an opportunity you will want to pass up.

When you visit San Jose with your underage 18 rent a car, check out what is going on at HP Pavilion. There are many sporting and non-sporting events that take place throughout the year.
