Rent A Car In Los Angeles and the John Anson Ford Theater

The John Anson Ford Theatres are nestled in the Hollywood Hills. When you come here for a show with your rent a car in Los Angeles, you will enjoy a show against the backdrop of cypresses and chaparral. Also, it is a very intimate theater: you won't be more than 96 feet away from the stage in any seat when you visit with your rent a car in Los Angeles.

The Ford Theater is one of the oldest performing arts venues in Los Angeles that is still in use. It sits on a 45-acre park-like setting, with many performances running from May through October. The theater was built in 1920 as the site of Pilgrimage Play. The author, Christine Wetherill Stevenson, thought it would be a good backdrop for the play. A wooden amphitheater was built here and plays were performed every summer until 1929, when the original structure was destroyed by a file. The new theater was built with concrete and designed in the ancient Judaic architecture that you will find in Jerusalem. When it opened in 1931, the same play was again performed until 1964. The only time the Pilgrimage Play was interrupted was during World War Two when the site was used as dormitories for servicemen.

Ticketing

The Box Office can be found at 2580 Cahuenga Boulevard East. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. If you buy tickets to three or more events, you will save 20%. There is stacked parking on site for your rent a car in Los Angeles at a cost of $5 per vehicle for evening shows, $1 for Big!World!Fun! family shows, and $10 per vehicle for lease performances. There is also satellite parking and a shuttle during the summer for evening performances.

Performances

Another popular performance venue nearby with your rent a car in Los Angeles. Located in Griffith Park, this is one of the most picturesque theaters in the area, as well as a popular destination for visitors and residents alike. The theater seats 5801 people in a concert setting. When you leave your rent a car in Los Angeles to come in you will notice the great acoustics and excellent site lines. It was originally built in 1929 by a wealthy man who was once poor and wanted to give back to his city. Since then it has played host to some of the biggest performers in show business, including The Who, Alicia Keys, Pearl Jam, Marc Anthony, Tina Turner, Elton John, Santana, The White Stripes, Jack Johnson, and many more.

No matter where you go to see a show in Los Angeles, it is sure to be a spectacular event. Many of the theaters are outside in the summer months, allowing you to experience the great weather that Los Angeles has. With such a wide range of performances offered, why not take advantage of the deal that the Ford Theater offers and buy tickets to multiple performances to save money. You just might be glad that you made the trip with your rent a car in Los Angeles.
