LAX Car Rentals and Kidspace Childrens Museum

Kidspace Children's Museum is located in Pasadena, CA with your LAX car rental. It is easy to find since it is right next to the Rose Bowl. Since it has opened in 2004, it has provided with the community for creative space and interactive learning, making it one of the best children's museums in Southern California.

Read all about it: a guide to Kidspace's history

Kidspace has been around since the late 1970s. It was officially launched at the California Institute of Technology as part of a community project. It was supposed to address a critical need for the community: the need for increased arts, humanities, and sciences for kids in the area. This pilot project was such a success that the following year the museum opened in the Rosemont Pavilion with long-term exhibits. Over the next decade, the project grew and had new themes quarterly. During the 1990s, Kidspace developed a reputation as an innovative institution in the community and was used by schools to support their curriculum. There were also summer camps for kids.

Go ahead and play

Kidspace features exhibits, programs, and activities for children to grow and develop through exploration of the environment, science, and forms of expression. This is a great place to visit with your LAX car rental with kids between the ages of 2 and 10. There are a number of different exhibits to explore while you are here. At Bugsy's Diner you learn about the anatomy and feeding habits of different insects. You can also take some ideas from the "Bug Food Channel", such as baby bee dip, banana worm bread, and more. The Dig Uncover makes you a palaeontologist that investigates the dig site. You will uncover plant and animal fossils that are native to the arroyo and discover past life in the area. In the Shake Zone you can create an earthquake by pushing large tectonic plates against each other to see how the Earth's shifting causes earthquakes and how mountains erode. You can also learn about the recent earthquake activity in Southern California while you visit with your LAX car rental.

Step into the sun

Since the museum is located in Southern California, there are also a number of exhibits outside for you to explore while you visit with your LAX car rental. You can take a stroll in the gardens that were designed to highlight the plants native to the arroyo setting. There is also a Water Play Outdoor that you can cool off in. The Trike Track is where kids can learn the rules of the road on tricycles.

Plan your visit

Kidspace is open for you to visit with your LAX car rental Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is $9 per person. Water is a big part of Kidspace, so plan on getting wet. You might also want to bring a towel or change of clothes and shoes that won't bother you while wet.
