Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museum
The Legion of Honor is a unique art museum located in San Francisco California. It was the gift of Alma de Bretteville Spreckels, wife of the thoroughbred racehorse owner and breeder Adolph B. Spreckels. The building is an imitation of the Palais de la Legion d'Honneur, known as the Hotel de Salm in Paris by George Applegarth and H.Guillaume completed in 1924. The Legion of Honor occupies a site in Lincoln Park with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
