When the franchise that you now know as the Los Angeles Clippers came into the NBA in 1970, they were neither the Clippers, nor located in Los Angeles. In fact, the team was located in Buffalo, and nicknamed the Braves. Playing in Buffalo for 8 seasons, the Braves had a brief glimpse of playoff success in the mid 1970's but were never able to capture the NBA title. After falling on hard times, the Braves were relocated to San Diego where the name 'Clippers' was adopted. However, San Diego faired even worse than the Braves did. In six seasons, the San Diego Clippers didn't make the playoffs a single time and were soon relocated to Los Angeles. Although the present day Clippers have yet to win an NBA championship, there is hope on the horizon.
