Car Rental in California and Los Angeles Golf

Los Angeles offers a number of golf courses within the city that you can play at with your car rental in California. Below are a number of public golf courses in the Los Angeles are that you can visit with your car rental in California for a day on the greens.

Easy does it

Maggie Hathaway Golf Course – this nine-hole public course is at the heart of the city. It features 1008 yards of golf on this par 27 course. This short course features mainly easy holes, making it ideal for beginners visiting with a car rental in California, but there are some challenges as well, such as the narrow tree-lined fairways. The greens are medium sized and sloped. Open all year long.

Rancho Park Golf Course – This course has hosted the Senior PGA Tour’s Ralph’s Senior Classic in the past. The fairways are lined with mature trees and the greens are average size and in good condition. There are many sand bunkers incorporated into the design, making accuracy important when playing here.

Chester Washington Golf Course- this course has very narrow fairways, making it somewhat of a challenge when you visit with your car rental in California. Also, many of the shots are directed at elevated greens. The signature hole to watch out for here is number 13, a 200-yard par 3 that requires a tee shot to a green surrounded by eucalyptus trees.

Choose something a little more challenging

Los Feliz Golf Course – this course features trees lining every hole. The greens are medium sized and fast, but there are no water hazards to worry about here. However, there are many sand bunkers incorporated into the design to watch out for.

Roosevelt Municipal Golf Course – The hilly fairways create a challenge for all levels of golfers, especially since they are narrow and tree-lined. There are no water hazards, but the sand bunkers are difficult.

Rancho Park Golf Course – Rancho Park has greens in fairly good condition. The fairways are lined with mature trees and a standard cut of rough. Sand bunkers have been incorporated near the green, so accurate approach shots are important when golfing here. The terrain is also a little hilly, making the course a bit more of a challenge.

Make it fun for everyone, even non-golfers

Griffith Park – Griffith Park offers two choices of golf courses for you to choose from when you visit with your car rental in California. The Harding course is tree lined and features ponds on two holes. The Wilson Course has tight fairways and small greens. The Harding course is the shorter of the two, but requires more accurate shotmaking abilities. This is a great place to play golf when visiting with your car rental in California because non-golfers can enjoy the many other facilities at the park, including the zoo, Travel Town, and observatory.
