Pacifica Pier
Pacifica Pier is a famous fishing pier that you can visit with your car rental San Francisco (you may recognize it from movies). The pier extends into the ocean for a quarter of a mile in the City of Pacifica.

The pier is located at Sharp Park Beach Pacifica Municipal Pier and has been open since 1973. The pier is open for you to fish off of from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily unless there is rough weather. The pier has fish cleaning facilities, benches, restrooms, and a snack bar where you can relax during the day.
Life is a beach

How to get here
If you would like to visit with your San Francisco rental car, you can get here by taking Highway 1 to Pacifica, the take the Paloma Avenue/Francisco Boulevard exit. Take Paloma west to Beach Boulevard and turn left. Go south to the pier.

The area is also a popular mountain biking destination with the hills and trails that criss-cross the city. In the hills
There are a few parks in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area that are found in Pacifica. Pedro Mountain Road is a series of historical road crossing of the Pedro Mountain. Some of these trails also form part of the McNee Ranch State Park. The park which is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is an often hiked area with extensive biodiversity. Sweeney Ridge can also be found here, which is an overlook for the San Francisco Bay and best known as being the site of the Bay discovery in 1769.
For something different
There are also many indoor activities you can enjoy when you are here if the weather wont allow you to spend much time outside. There is live local theater with regular musical and performing arts presentations.
