Celebrating 30 Years: This Year's Festival
Frameline30, the 30th San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival was held this year from June 15th to the 15th. Cinematic stories of love, lust, friendship, loss and behavior were presented to a handful of theaters packed with local, national and international fans. A stunning diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual experiences were brought forth as well, highlighting the changing face of LGBT aesthetics in today's world. Festival favorites like Charles Busch, Margaret Cho and Francois Ozon made triumphant returns with new features this year, as did a few LGBT icons. Films highlighting Tony Kushner and George Michael made big waves in the documentary category, while lesser known stars hit it big in the short films section. All in all the festival was yet another international success attracting viewers from both the straight and GLBT communities.
