Housing creative genius
The San Francisco Symphony has been housed in a number of different concert venues since opening its doors in 1911. The first SFS performance was held in December 1911 in the Cort Theater at 64 Ellis Street. By 1918, San Francisco car hire travelers could catch a performance at the Curran Theatre on Geary Street. The group would spend the next twelve years alternating performances between the Curran and Tivoli Theater.
