Underage 18 Car Rental and San Jose Sabercats
The San Jose SaberCats are an Arena Football League team that you can see when you visit San Jose with your underage 18 rental car. The SaberCats are the defending Arena Bowl champions and play in the Western Division of the American Conference.
Feel the energy
The SaberCats came into existence in 1995 with a bang. They are one of the Arena Football Leagues premier organizations, with never having less than 10000 fans at home games. If you have an opportunity to see them when you visit with your underage 18 rental car, then this is not an opportunity you will want to pass up. The excitement in the arena is electrifying. The team plays at the HP Pavilion, which is also home to the San Jose Sharks (NHL) and the San Jose Stealth (National Lacrosse League). The SaberCats have been Arena Bowl champions in 2002, 2004, and 2007.
Be part of an up-and-coming sport
The Arena Football League was founded in 1987, with attendance increasing dramatically over the last few years. The founder, Jim Foster, was a former NFL executive. He set up a "playtest", which is when a game designer tests a new game for bugs and improvements to bring it to market, in Rockford, Illinois. There were two teams of semi-pro and former college football players who looked at how the game would work. When you visit with your underage 18 rental car you will see this recent game. The AFL was founded in 1987, but it is still a somewhat obscure sport. Many people know about it, but don't know about the league itself or the rules.
Emerge yourself
Before visiting with your underage 18 rental car, get to know some of the rules of Arena Football. The field is a padded surface that is 50 yards long. The goal posts are nine feet wide. The equipment for the sport is the same as a football for the NFL. There are eight players on the field at once, with a 20-man active roster and 4-man inactive roster. Four players must line up on the line of scrimmage and three defensive players must be down linemen. Only the "Mac Linebacker" can blitz on either side of centre. Players play four 15 minute quarters with a 15-minute halftime. The clock stops for out-of-bounds plays or incomplete passes in the last minute of the half. If there is an injury or penalty, the clock may also stop. Finally, there are four downs to advance the ball 10 yards for a first down or to score. Six points are awarded for a touchdown, one point for a conversion by place kick after a touchdown, two points for a conversion by drop kick, and two points for successful run or pass after a touchdown. There are three points for a field goal by placement or four for a field goal by drop kick. Two points are awarded for a safety.
While arena football is not the most popular or well-known sport, it can be a lot of fun to catch a game when you visit with your underage 18 rental car. The San Jose SabreCats are a great team to see since they have been the champions 3 times since 2002.
