Discount Car Rental and Metrolink

There are many different types of transportation available in Southern California, besides a great discount car rental from Super Cheap. Southern California also offers a great variety of commuter trains, buses, light rail systems and taxis that are perfect for getting you to where you've got to go. If you're feeling a little too tired to drive your discount car rental from Super Cheap, don't worry! Why not take this opportunity to take a ride on the Metrolink!

The Metrolink is a regional rail system in California that includes both commuter and passenger cabins. This quick and efficient trail service links many southern California communities to employment and activities centers throughout the area. Metrolink is way more reliable than freeway traffic, while at the same time remaining one of the safest and easiest forms of transportation in the southern California area.

The Metrolink is NOT a part of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority and is not a part of the color-coded MTA system (MTA Trains are Red, Blue, Gold and Green). The Metrolink system operates five different regional lines - Ventura County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange County. This convenient form of rail service has been available for residents of southern California for close to 11 years and is happy to report a six to eight percent increase in ridership each and every month!

Riding the Metrolink helps passengers to cut down on fuel costs, help protect the environment and to arrive safely at their chosen destination. Driving your discount car rental from Super Cheap everyday can get a little pricy thanks to climbing gasoline prices, so why not save yourself some cash and take the Metrolink today! Interesting Facts about Metrolink

  • Thanks to the Metrolink service 25,203 auto trips are removed from congested roadways in southern California each week, reducing pollution and traffic confusion.
  • 62% of the riders on Metrolink are headed to work, taking the train to Union Station in Los Angeles everyday.
  • 37% of the riders on Metrolink are headed to the Los Angeles Central Business District everyday.

The Metrolink rail system is a great program that is effectively helping to cut down the number of motorists battling with rush hour traffic everyday. Metrolink is also in partnership with a variety of connecting modes throughout southern California including Amtrak train services and Los Angeles Department of Transportation. These transit partners help ensure that you and your travel mates always arrive on time, regardless of were you're going! Metrolink takes punctuality very seriously and is proud to offer an extensive compensation policy incase of any unseen delay! Now that's service!

Purchasing tickets to ride on any one of the Metrolink trains is quick and easy; just visit one of the ticket vending machines (TVMs) located at the terminals. These TVMs accept cash, ATM cards and a long list of credit cards so don't worry if you don't have exact change! In order to ride a Metrolink train you must show the conductor or fare verifier your ticket stub before entering the train so be careful not to lose it! A variety of different tickets are available for riding the Metrolink including One-Way Tickets, Round-Trip Tickets and 10-Trip Tickets.

Monthly Passes are also available at all the Metrolink TVMs. Rush hour fares on the Metrolink are marginally more expensive than off-peak fares, but a few extra bucks is nothing compared to the time you'll save! Peak rush hours on the Metrolink are anytime before 8:30am and between 3:30pm-6:55pm from Monday to Friday. Special weekend services on the Metrolink help to connect residents to great local amusement parks, museums, shopping centers and other local hot spots, so why not take advantage of the lower weekend fares to have some fun!

Super Cheap Car Rental encourages you to take a ride on the Metrolink rail system the next time you're feeling too tired to drive your discount car rental. The Metrolink is a quick and efficient form of transportation that is helping to keep southern California clean and less congested with traffic.
