This Nissan Sentra boasts a great history of performance and value, offering clean lines and great models. The early models based off the Nissan Sunny made great options for drivers both young and old as maintenance was extremely simple and the safety rating was impeccable. The two door model was extremely popular in North America and was market by Nissan as a latter-day BMW. When Nissan introduced the Sentra SE-R in 1991 a more powerful vehicle was available to Nissan lovers! At first glance the two door sedan looked to be a bit modernized with fog lamps, alloy wheels and front and rear spoilers; but in reality there was much, much more! The mechanical distinctions made on the SE-R model were huge, introducing a 140 horsepower 2.0 Liter DOHC 4 cylinder engine along with a close-ration 5 speed manual transmission blew prospective drivers away and left them begging for more! The suspension was sport-tuned and included rear and front anti-roll along with optional ABS brakes. It wasn't long before this new vehicle gained popular recognition, and comparisons between the legendary Datsun 510 were constantly being mentioned! Over the next four years the Sentra would go through relatively minor changes, adding cruise control and remodeling the spoiler details. Yet the Sentra continued to captivate drivers world wide and the media continued to sing its praises. It was honoured as one of Automobile's "All Stars" in 1993 and 1994, while '93 saw the Sentra as a "Screaming Deals" contender! The Nissan Sentra became one of Car and Driver magazines "10 Best Unheralded Performance Cars" which attracted a newer, younger audience to the vehicles fan base. It wasn't long before the SE-R became a favorite in motorsport events, winning matches in both the off-road rallies on autocross track races. The Nissan Sentra was starting to look like a legendary vehicle, and this was only the beginning!
In 2000 a new Sentra sedan was introduced in two enhanced models, the GXE and the SE, both boasting immaculate performance and style what else would you expect from the Sentra! While the original SE-R models were fairly basic two doors in design, Nissan has made a huge effort to promote their four door models, adding an aggressive front fascia and side sill extensions. These added touches advertise this vehicle as a serious sport machine similar to the popular Japanese marketed Skyline GT. The 2002 model turned it up another notch adding a 170 horsepower engine in the SE-R and a 180 horsepower in the SE-R Spec V model. These new engines allowed the Nissan Sentra to seriously compete with vehicles equipped with double the engine capacity - can you say
