The Wells Fargo Center for the Performing Arts aims to enrich, educate, and entertain and connect the community through the arts. Unlike similar organizations, they are not aligned with any federal, state, or municipal entity, including universities. The Wells Fargo Center for the Performing Arts was started in the late 1970s when a group of residents belonging to the local Rotary clubs wanted to find a home for the Santa Rosa Symphony and to form a cultural centre for the Redwood Empire. In 1979, they bought the Christian Life Center and the surrounding 43 acres and the center opened its doors in 1981. In 2006, the centre was renamed the Wells Fargo Center, but it remains under the same leadership of the community-based Board of Directors. There are a number of resident companies that are part of the Wells Fargo Center for the Performing Arts include the American Philharmonic, which was founded in 1998 and is a full-size symphonic orchestra; Healdsburg Guitar Festival, a biannual event that feature and sells handcrafted guitars; Roustabout Theater, a professional theater that features contemporary musicals and classic plays; the Santa Rosa Concert Association, a number of world-class artists that present a number of musical experiences including dance, instrumental presentations, choral groups, and orchestras; Santa Rosa Nutcracker, a 13 year tradition that takes place in December; and the Santa Rosa Symphony, which was founded in 1927 and has performed here since the center's inception. The Santa Rosa Symphony presents 25 performances a year and provides musical education to youth.
How to get your tickets
When you visit with your LAX car rentals, you can get tickets at the box office Tuesday through Saturday between noon and 6 p.m. You can also order them on the phone or online for many of the shows. All sales are final.
